My trips on monday 7/3 so i need some ideas quick! im going to London the plane rides like 9 hours and im willing to do anything for the first class seat. Since the stupid carrier told me i had to upgrade a month ago!

I don't see why the upgrade needs to be done 01 month in advance. The only reason I can think is the 1st class seats are full if not they will upgrade you anytime as they will earn more revenue on this.
Call the airline again, check if they have any free seats available and if so go for the check in very early so you can try your luck again when checking in.

Be assured, the flight time will not be longer in coach.
As for sweet talking a stewardess, just be nice to her. You may receive as much as a smile.
If they have a movie/s it will pass quickly.

Quite often you can upgrade at the check-in counter if there is space available in the section you want but beware...1st class to Europe is EXPENSIVE!!!
