Sometimes when I highlight, copy and paste something from the internet into a word document, I get a picture of a little cell phone instead. But if I go back and do the exact same steps again, then it the copy/paste works fine. Why does this happen?

Thank you :)

usually what happens is, your program is formatted & enabled to recognize any numeric imput as a phone # format. it doesnt do it again due to the first time you declined it, so it recognizes it really isn't a phone #. hope that explains it a bit.

you may be copying a HTML formats along with the text. Next time when you copy from internet, choose "paste special" then a pop up will open, select 'unformated text', you wont get the little cell phone.

cause that is a link that you can pick on when you took it from the net to link to a cell phone but when you took it and copied it the first time it dis abled the link but kept the phone symble the second time the computer found no data in the phone icon and removed it.
