Its Not Important,

What Is,

Honesty ~ Love ~ affection ~ desire ~

Getting Along ~ No Violence ~ Never Cheating.

The Paper Is Just That A PIECE OF PAPER.~ !

I Want My Man To Come Home Because He Wants To,

Not Because He Has To. ~ !

You're also part of a 'common-law marriage', if you've been living together for more than 7 years. And yes, that is legally binding. We care about marriage because it's a man's way of showing that he loves you exclusively, wants to be with you forever, and doesn't care that thy'll be 'tied down'. Yes, divorce is a common and fairly simple way of 'escaping' a marriage, but it's much harder than just moving out. In a marriage, you're expected to work though hardships that would ruin a relationship without the pledge of love until death backing it up.
And not all chicks find it so important; they're calmer, more analytical, and lonelier for their prioritizing.

I don't think it's that important. My boyfriend and I share everything a home, a car we even worked together for a while. Now we have a daughter on the way. If we were to get married tommorow all it would change is my title and I would have a ring on my finger. Admittingly it has it's romantic side, saying that you will be together forever but most people just end up divorced anyway.
i don't see that much of a point either.

First of all, being in a relationship for 10 years is to be commended, you must have been through a lot together. That in itself must feel like marriage.

But marriage isn't just a piece of paper nor is it just being in a relationship for 10 years.

You stand up in front of people that you love and who are important to you; some have know you all of your lives before you even knew each other. They are genuinely happy for you and want to share in that happiness. You make lifelong personal vows to one another and protest your love for each another.

I wasn't sure if I would feel different after being married, seeing as I knew my husband was "the one" and that we would be together forever, what more does one need? I thought it wouldn't make a difference if we had a piece of paper to prove our love or not. But after being married there was a deeper sense of commitment that I wouldn't have known unless I had been married. This sense of commitment cannot be expressed in mere words to do it any justice so I will not bother in attempt for your comprehension.

Perhaps, thinking of it as only a piece of paper is an underestimation of the meaning of marriage.

It might not be something important at the country where you live in.. but in my country, living together without any marriage paper is considered a sin, an illegal conduct.
So, we have to get married and get the paper to make it legal.
Someone might go to jail when they caught living together without marriage.
And by the way, I dont really trust that marriage is something that should be patented by paper. It is because getting a divorce is something that can be done easily now. Maybe it is because we put it on paper, it can be tored away easily. We should start to consider puting it on stainlessstell maybe? LMAO

It means as men do have a tendency to have wandering eyes, as women we always wonder if that will move to your legs one day. If we are married it would be much harder for you to leave us because there are so many legalities involved then. Especially when kids come in to the picture and we don't want to waste half of hour life with someone and then have them leave us for a younger women and not get crap for it. If we are legally married and with children, and you mess up, I can take you to the cleaners and gladly will.

It's not that important. I am married. Quite frankly, I don't understand why couples who don't have children bother to get married at all. I think it might be a status symbol, stability, feeling you have landed a husband. With the divorce rate like it is, I don't see why any of it matters. But ten years? gee, are you serious about her, don't you want to make her an honest woman!?

you don't get it, do you? If you are not legally married you are not in any way "husband 'n wife"; being husband and wife requires a legally binding contract. it's not the paper, it is the private and public stating of your commitment to one another, which is of major importance in freeing each of you to be your best selves in the relationship. when you know you are truly committed to one another you have a greater motivation to maintain and grow your relationship, as opposed to the "oh, well, I"m gone" attitude. the security of committed love is the steadfast foundation a real family needs to grow and thrive.

For the several answers talk to a lawyer. I has a lot of legal implications, a whole lot. Once you find out you won't be so stupid and it will be important to you also. I have nothing against living together. But doing it without knowing the implications is dangerous to your physical, financial and social safety.

What makes you think it's important to "all" chicks? U guys are the one's always asking. I think if it was your girlfriends #1 priority she would have left you by now for someone else. What gave u the impression every woman needs to be married, paper and all?
I think you will find you are wrong assuming so.

because wiyh the papers you is making a legal commitment and if all goes wrong the woman gone have half of everything but without the papers you leave with what you came with and i beleive the papers makes men more serious about the relationship and less tempting for another woman
