First and foremost I'm an American, Christian, and I don't believe in either party any more. I steer to vote Democratic only because the Republicans are for the wealthy and send our troops to a war zone that they should never have been sent to.

Its proven that Iraq had NO WMD, yet our troops are still over there dying in vain. As long as the Republicans are in office our youth will be going over there and fighting a battle that is NOT really ours to fight.

I research the two main candidates running, and yes I will choose the lesser of the two evils, however my man didn't win. I have voted for both Republican and Democrat, but I think I will be going Independent very soon. I'm for Pro Life, against Stem cell research so that makes me a centrist as another called herself. Actually I'm more liberal then I am conservative.

One poster said he is Republican because Democrats want to pull our troops home. That's lame! Do you have children, grandchildren fighting in this war that was based on a lie? Have you had any friends or family members lose a loved one from this war? Have you ever served in any of the military branches? Our young men and women, mostly, along with fathers and grandparents that serve are going over to a region we had NO right to invade. Our main focus should have been looking for those that killed close to 3000 people when they flew our own planes into the Twin Towers, the Pentagon, and crashed the third in the field in Pa. But, still to this day that man and his evil doers are out there somewhere free. After we had killed bin Laden or captured him then go into Iraq and get Saddam, not before. Our government should have gotten the ok from the UN before going in. That's why I don't vote Republican, they are money hungry warmongers to the hilt.

neither is very good, but at least democrats are trying for peace.

See it boils down to this.

Liberals(D) think that everyone can live in peace, and that it's the responsibilty of the rich to help the poor. That sounds nice, but there are a couple problems with that. First there is always some asshole that will screw it up, and if you're not willing to do what is necessary to protect yourself someone will inevitably take advantage of you. Second high taxes, even when it's the rich your taxing it's bad for the economy, we're all better off when people are allowed to spend their own money, because the government is too wastefull

Conservatives(R) don't like anyone who doesn't agree with their point of view. They want to censer, ban or kill anyone who they deam to be dangerous to their way of life, whether or not those people are really hurting anyone at all. They think if they get ride of everyone who thinks differently then the rest of the "good people" can live in peace.

I'm a Libertarian, I vote Democrate because it's the lesser of two evils. Libertarians believe that everyone should be allowed to live their lives the way they choose to live as long as they aren't infringing on that same right in someone else. Basically all the good things about Democrate's except lower taxes.

The old saying goes, "If you're under 30 and not a democrat, you have no heart; If you're over 30 and not a republican, you have no brain." ( or something like that) I was a democrat who voted for Clinton twice, (Insert rolled eyes), but when I realized the democrats only hurt those whom they claim to help (minorities, women, etc), I had to change to republican. The republican party is far from perfect, but I think the democractic party is useless for everyone.

Republican, because the Democrats want to pull our troops out of Iraq. I agree with some Democratic issues however I believe that the global war against radical Islam must continue. Iraq is a major battlefield in this war.

mostly Democrat. because I believe the Republican Party of today is truly geared towards the rich and the wealthy corporations. There is not only any care for the poor, there is no care for the middle class, which is the foundation of this country.
I just finshed a biography of Thomas Jefferson. He is the true father of this democracy. He would be appalled by the religious right of modern Republicans. And by their subservience to the richer hierarchy of this society

Libertarian, because I want the government in our lives as little as possible. This includes our pocket book AND our bedroom!

But given the choice between the two, I'd probably vote Republican. The Democrats seems to be becoming Socialist.

Democrat. I did vote for Nixon in 1972, he signed off larger VA payments for those of us vets who were going to school. Because of Watergate and all, I voted straight Demo ticket. Reagan was a actor and was a poor Governor for California. The union I belong to at the time, PATCO, endorsed him, the only union to do so. Seven months into his first term he fired 12,500 air traffic controllers. This having said during his campaign he would help the controllers. He lied to us and that not the only thing he lied about. Since that time I don't vote for any one for anything under the republican banner.

I lean more liberal, but I guess I could be considered a centrist. I'm only 19 and my politcal awareness is still growing. Those who say "just because" are obviously uneducated and don't know the recent issues. Just the issues can make ones opinion sway. Sometimes I agree with Conservatives....sometimes Liberals. There are very few Americans who are way liberal or way conservative....people who claim to be one or the other without reason can be considered centrists themselves for the time being. They just choose because that's what their parents were. More women are increasingly becoming Democrats too.

Democrat, because Democrats care about the good of all the people, not just the privileged.

Republican, because it's the party that is more in line with my beliefs. Probably the same reason most people turn to or away from a party.
