Marvel, by far. Because DC comics makes their heroes seem unreal, like Superman = invinsible(well basically). In Marvel things happen that seem more realistic and the heroes are everyday people with normal problems with a little bit extra.

Its a matter of personal preference, my friend. Some people prefer DC, others prefer Marvel. There is NO definitive "better" because people have different tastes and preferences. But the stereotype that Marvel is more "realistic" is bunk. That might have been true in the 60s, but since at least the 70s, its been completely unfounded. Marvel may have started the trend of humanizing their heroes, but DC quickly followed suit and gave their heroes human conflicts. The thing is though that DC doesn't let those conflicts literally define their heroes' lives. I love Spider-Man, but if I have to hear Peter Parker complain about how difficult it is to find a girlfriend or the phrase "with great power comes great responsibility" one more time I'm going to scream. @I AM IRON MAN: Um, I've read a LOT of DC comics and I can't recall any that fit the description you're providing. Actually, I'd say that DC villains succeed on a more regular basis than Marvel villains. A couple examples that come to mind: Doomsday killed Superman. Lex Luthor was the President of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA for a while. Joker killed the second Robin, Jason Todd, and paralyzed Barbara Gordon, taking her out of the Batgirl role for a good 20+ years. Oh, and also stripped her and took naked pictures of her, all while torturing her father. Iris Allen, the wife of Barry Allen (the original Silver Age Flash), was murdered by Professor Zoom. And Barry, himself, along with countless other heroes would later die in the first Crisis at the hands of the Anti-Monitor. Coast City and the 7 million people living there were destroyed by Mongul and Cyborg Superman, eventually turning Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) into the villain Parallax. etc. Ultimately the villains of the DCU lose, but (and this is a quote from IGN) "the bad guy often comes away with a little piece of the hero's soul. For some it becomes a defining moment. Even though most of the villains may not be a threat to the whole universe or even the world, they truly make a hero's life hell." Compare that to the Marvel villains' successes, which are few and far between. Sure they have a few successes, but in the end, they hardly get away with anything. Hell, the Fantastic Four managed to turn away Galactus, a literal cosmic entity! Like, seriously? How can a stretchy guy, an invisible girl, and two guys made of rock and fire turn away a god? Even if they had the help of the Silver Surfer?

I don't like Superman, and the idea of a nearly invincible man who can fly, have x-ray vision, shoot icy breath, and so on.....
the idea of people struggling with their powers in their daily lives is more realistic and believable. We can relate to some of their problems, and grow to like that character in more ways than one. Being a hero isn't about going around looking for a problem to solve, but reacting to one that is occuring- to someone in need.
The X-men are outcasts, individuals of unique ability and strange powers. Each one is different, and why they're different is because they overlook their differences and unite together.
Professor X, you are the man.
