etiquette on tipping at Sonic? I have always been confused whether or not to tip and how much. To tip or not to tip? And if to tip, what %?

Try to look at it this way, if you were a server at Sonic, would you want a tip? What percentage would make you happy?

I've always tipped.

"Sonic" the fast food chain? Well, you don't really have to tip them. You can always give them 1 or 2 dollars. They make plenty of tips in one hour. If you're a generous person give em 5 bucks, that would really make their day. There's no % for that, the 15% only applies to dining in a restaurant where waiters constantly comes to your table.

I never thought too much about it until a few weeks ago, when my friend gave a tip at sonic. She just gave them the extra change she was getting back.

General etiquette doesn't dictate that you tip on fast food, however since the servers do bring your food out to you I would personally tip them $1, but, as always, it's up to you.

don't tip at sonic.....they don't wait on you in the sense that you're sitting at a table and they keep coming over making sure your drink is filled and you have enough napkins or whatever....they just cart your food out to you and take your cash....no tip
