Our family would love to adopt an African American girl age 9-13yr old. We are Jehovah's Witnesses and wish to find a daughter that is willing to adopt us as a family and share our family values.

Go to http://www.adoptuskids.org... You can specify the age and race of the child you'd like to adopt, and they will give you a photolisting of children. Then there is an online form you can fill out to get more information and to get a homestudy started.

But don't expect the child you adopt to be extremely grateful to you or to be willing to change her religion. Older kids who are available for adoption have been through a lot and often have trouble trusting new families, and a child who was raised to believe one religion (or no religion) might feel that changing her religion is giving up a part of herself.

Good luck!

Jehovah's Witnesses are fine members of the community, and their families are loving, strong, and supportive. Any adherent of that religion is likely to be a fine parent, and a child raised with bible principles will be blessed.

May the Almighty Sovereign Jehovah bless your godly work:

(James 1:27) The form of worship that is clean and undefiled from the standpoint of our God and Father is this: to look after orphans and widows in their tribulation

Incidentally, as a matter of practicality you are advised to list your religion on ALL PAPERWORK simply as "Christian" rather than as "Jehovah's Witness". You will avoid much heartache, distraction, delay, and disappointment and will almost completely avoid many future questions (and the resulting temptation to compromise integrity and/or truthfulness).

go through an adoption agency. try going to your state dcfs website, there are always children in state custody that need a good home.
