Man, I just love this stuff...

Ohio is 44,825 square miles.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ohio

That multiplies out to 1,249,649,280,000 square feet.
(x 5280 ft/ mile, squared!)

This industrial strength vacuum can vacuum 10,000 square feet an hour.

Divide "Ohio" by "vacuum" (that big number by 10000), gives you 124,964,928 hours.

There are 8766 hours in a year (I count 365.25 days a year, to count for leap year. Yes, I'm a big geek). So dividing again comes to 14,255.64 years. That's a long time.

You could try this one - the end of the brochure has a big thing that does 64000 sq. ft an hour.

That lowers your time to...2227.44 years. Oh well. Better leave Ohio dirty for now.

Using a canister or upright?

Also, where would you want to put it? If you left all the soil in Ohio, you'd need to vacuum over and over again.

I wouldn't vacuum Ohio... too much money for vacuum bags. I mean if you think gas is pricey.....

About the same amount of time that it would take to carpet the State of Pennsylvania with Persian rugs.

Well, I suppose seanchasworth would be right, but you would have to take out the structures and formations, because if you include them, you would have to vaccum longer. So I would go with a few decades more than 2227.44 years.
