2 specific situations I'm referring to: the 2nd French non-goal (appeared to be over the line but the ref didn't allow it, leading to a draw), and some point in the Korea-Switzerland game when the Swiss were apparently offsides but it wasn't called. I'm asking b/c I've heard that in the past and in the game with France, the refs have been soft on Korea, but now following Korea's loss to the Swiss, the Koreans around me are complaining about bad calls. (I live in South Korea right now, I'm from the U.S. and I really have no knowledge of or opinion about football, so I'm seeking opinions from those more informed than I.)

Soccer_mind, 4 years ago Korea won Italy rightfuly, there was some minor mistakes from the ref., but that did not affect the match. However, the match between Korea vs Spain, the ref. helped Korea to win. For another thing, FIFA is not doing anything about ref., before Korea 2002 were irregularities with ref.
4 years after 4 years we are experiencing the same unfair ref. action. Dont you thing FIFA should change thing about referees?
and Im not agree with you about WHAT COMES AROUND GOES AROUND. Dude give me a break.

Soccer_mind, if you know about a little about soccer history, you will see there were astronomical mistakes made by ref way before WC 2002. Plz, dont be ignorant, and study before making any judgement.

Koreans may be right to complain about the game with Switzerland, BUT they where not complaining 4 years ago, 2002 World Cup, KOREA advanced to the quarter finals after the game with ITALY. The referee (Byron MORENO) did what no one else had ever done before in soccer, and as a result KOREA won the game. Mr. Moreno was right after radiated from refereeing soccer again. NOTE: the World Cup was in Korea-Japan. Anyway, WHAT COMES AROUND GOES AROUND.

It does suck because once the side ref lifted his flag that it was offside the whole korean defence stop, including the goalie he didnt really attempt hard to get the ball.

2nd Swiss goal was CLEARLY offside. the replay shows the line judge raising his flag straight up in the air, not half-way unsure but straight up!!!! Korea was robbed. whatever. they would have lost to Spain. dang it. FIFA needs to implement instant replay
