Lee, Mr. Figo is not a nice guy.
I agree he should be punished for his action against Van Bommel. Maybe FIFA should also look into Mr. Scolari's verbal attack on Marco van Basten.

lets look at the game, Did the ref lose control? could the frustration of all the cards stopping the flow of the game cause the players to boil over. The "headbutt" was not really that bad but all the acting does not help. The linesman or what ever you wish to call him should have acted and between the three of them at this level should have had control of what looked like a cracking match. Yes he should have been sent off, remember beckham v the bloody argies? Lets hope for the next few games that the ref and other linesman are in more control and let the play flow and only use the cards when all else fails. better still have a 3rd eye like in cricket.

Yes he should be! And while on that subject ... What's the need for a fifth odficial when no officials saw it happen? Surely one of them should have noticed it!!! The tackle on Carlos was a very bad tackle but the player was yellow carded (As he should be) But!!! What follows was even worse! I hope this Russian referee gets sacked as well! 16 yellow cards in one game, 4 red cards ... The man was an absolute disgrace. I feel very angry about it (Yup i'm a Holland fan) And aslo want to know Van Nistleroy wasn't brought in !!! Ginger haired man was absolutly useless. Van Nistleroy would have scored !!!

Yes he should be banned. But be careful using video evidence because the next step is to disallow a goal that has been given which video evidence proves to be an incorrect decision.

Head butting is a disgraceful act.........granted the guy fell like he got shot.....
But Figo should be gone......
I have never seen a more brutally reffed game in my watching of soccer........
I don't usually watch soccer.............I watch and play a lot of hockey and that reminded me of a bad hockey game!
Hope to God that ref does not get another game.......
