I have a feeling that it will take a long time. Japan and China both have huge egos to overcome. I say this because US (my home country) and China both have the same problem with egos at the moment.
As well, Japan has had a history of invading China. And I am sure that Japan can attest to some slurs that China has made on their part as well.

No, because the people of China have traumatic experienced with Japan because of his brutal war in world war II, and in economic China is independent country.
The Japaneses itself is too arrogant with China and any other Asian countries, They think that they are superior.

china and japan still have problems over thecomfort women issue ( sex slaves ), Korea has even bigger problems with japan for all the atrocities during the war .

in time the fumes of war hatred will dial down. what they both need is a common intrests. such as if america was trying to invade Asia and defend Asia they would have to work together. yea. but thats a fictional story. they need a common goal, agenda to tie them together.
