Here is what different fasting blood sugar levels mean (before meals):

Fasting Blood
Sugar Levels Before Meals means:
0-70 Danger. Too low. Get sugar immediately.
70-90 Possibly too low. Get sugar if you feel hungry, nervous, or weak.
90-160 Normal. This is the ideal range.
160-240 Too high. Work on bringing blood sugar down (see above).
240-300 This is very high and indicates that diabetes is out of control.
300-up Danger. Call your doctor immediately.

A normal blood sugar range is approximately 90-110. If your blood sugar is 300, you should definitely see a doctor as soon as possible.

You should take notice of anything over 120-130. 300 is very high, and you should see a Dr. If diabetes runs in your family, then you may have it. Be sure that you test at the right time. That is about 1 hour after meals. If I were you, I would be very concerned.

300 is way too high, I would contact your MD and have him do an 8 hour fasting test and see what your levels are. Sounds to me that you have diabetes. Either way as of right now I would start cutting down on your sugar intake and work on getting things under control.

The normal blood sugar level is 4 - 7 mmol/l before meals and less than 10 mmol/l after 1 and half hour of meals. At bed times, the normal blood sugar level is about 7 - 10 mmol/l. The normal values of blood sugar (glucose) level is 70 to 110 mg/dL for fasting.
High blood sugar level (increased glucose) is found in diabetes mellitus, liver disorders, hyperactivity of thyroid, pituitary and adrenal glands.

Low blood sugar level (decreased glucose) is found in lower activity (under-activity) of thyroid, pituitary and adrenal glands.

having 300 mg/dl is considered high

Yes - 300 is EXTREMELY high.

Please see your Doctor as soon as you can. I believe that the highest, within a normal range, is 150 (and this is still considered high).

I believe that you should be around 90 - 120. My Stepfather has been told to stay within this range.

Have a lovely rest of the night.
