Stephen King knows how to write to a wide audience, plain and simple.
His books contains everything people want: suspence and horror. Sure, there are people who enjoy a good romance or a nice drama. But everyone enjoys the deep suspence that lays over all of his books.

It's not his writing style, but the concept of the books. They're easy enough for almost all readers to grasp, yet there still is some subtlety that warrants re-reading. It would probably be best if he was to come up with the storylines and characters and then let someone else fill in the style. Just like he should never direct a movie again. *shudder*

Stephen King offers marvelously interesting and entertaining information. This is why his stories continue to create the intrigue and interest that has peaked throughout the world. He is basically a mystery writer who can really stir you up, fearfully. He has a golden thumb. Perhaps he reads Psalm 35 to (Plead My Cause) and asks God to help him with his life decisions. I do and I have found it to be very helpful in my life. Remember this, "If God be for us, who can be against us?" - Romans 8:31. Peace and God Bless.

I think his writing style and genuine need to tell a story draws people to at least read some of his works. I have read Sk for many years and some books are good and some are not. He still continues to address the questions of what if....

He loves his work, he writes about blood and horror plus he always gives something more into his writing (some memories from childhood, some romance, some wisdom, whatever ...)
I think his formula is to mix together real world, things we know and things we are afraid of.
His books can be really scary - I find them scarier than movies made after the book

His technique for writing and what he writes, he keeps a persons interest and keeps them on the edge of the seat as far as his movies are concern. Also the type of subjects that he publishes.
He makes the bucks so he sure has a way of writing. He keeps the readers interest and perked up.

Because he is very dedicated and has good twists in his books. Also alot of his books get made in to movies and thats easier for some ppl to watch rather than read.

Because his books have 'the hook' and once you start reading you want to know what happens. My fave is The Green Mile (which was written for his daughter so I understand)
