College is quite a bit different then highschool.
First nobody CARES if you show up for class or not.
Nobody CARES if you PASS or FAIL.
Yes... you can take courses not related to your major, but they will likely delay the time it takes you to graduate with a degree.
what else can I help you with?

well, college is very different than high school . Most people pick a major so they can take a lot of classes that interest them (if you like history, be history major, for example). But most degrees have room for elective courses where you can take something just because it looks interesting. For undergraduate school, don't worry about whether or not you will be able to get a job in that field. Take classes you enjoy, not classes that might help you get a certain type of job. If you really like Medieval Literature, don't worry about what kind of job you could get with that degree.

Depends on your school and program. If you go to a more Liberal Arts school, you tend to have to take many different courses outside of your major. But some schools make it so that once you enter the school, you hardly take any courses outside of your major. So if you know what you want to do for the rest of your life, find a non-Lib arts college.
Always remember to try and work at a job that is within that major before you graduate, that way you can figure out if you truly like that field enough.
Good luck!

College is very diffrent at least for me. I hated High School and at colleg if didnt do my homework no one called home or allowed me to turn it in late if was an F and there went your gpa. I did enjoy college but I also enjoyed the day my loans were paid off.
Yes, you can take lots of different courses but for the few couple of years you will be only able to take general education and many of these classes are crowed and taught in a large lecture hall with hundreds of other student forget the one on one education.

usually the first two years are like high school where u have certain required classes and some u can choose from... like i have to take an english and math class but theres more of a variety to choose from and the classes are a little more specific. yes u can take any class that interests u jus for fun... im majoring in business and im taking a philosophy class that has nothing to do with it.

There are courses that you have to take but you have a lot more choice and freedom. You don't go to school for a set straight time everyday, there's a lot more people to meet and see, a lot of things to see and do, and there's more or less pressure depending on what you're looking at.

hard work, you take courses around your Major and if you are undecided then take your time and research majors and career choices that interest you. but remember it is expensive, so don't play around with your education.

College? Well, it's much harder than High school. It's depressing, stressful, homework wise, and money wise. Some people actaully commit suicide due to the load of stress. Just find time to breath and you should do fine.

Yes you can, but sometimes it will depend on the school as well. Some schools like private ones have their own policies. It's lots of fun......
A lot of the schools you can download all the info you need from their website.
