^^ Yup.. you can also delete anything in Tempory Internet Files , but you will have the same problems as above. Try looking for files of previously removed programs, and delete them. It also helps to defragment your hard drive.

When you delete your cookies, nothing will happen, but you will have to put in any passwords you have any time you go to a website that uses cookies and they all do that. They are not dangerous, so you an always leave your cookies intact.

To clean up your Hard Drive, you can use disk clean that is located in the accessories, system tools section. The easiest way to get there is to click on my computer and then right click the C drive and then go down to properties, and you will find it in the Tools tab. You can also defragment, and you should do that often if you use the computer often. I do it even when I am told that my volume doesn't need defragmenting.

You can also get to those things by clicking on Start, run your mouse over programs, go up to accessories and then on the right you see system tools and all those things are located in there if you are using Windows XP. If you are using an earlier version of Windows, it will work the same way.

I don't use disk clean regularly. I would only use it if your hard drive is very close to being full, and I would use it then plus I would remove any unused programs and defragment again. I would NOT advise you to compress your hard drive. Granted, it will give you about twice more space, but you will also take a chance on losing your valuable data if you do it. It is a program called Drive Space that I am talking about. In Dos and the earlier Windows, it was called Double Space, and an expert advised me not to use it ever, so I hope I was able to give you help.

If you delete all cookies, no web site will "remember" anything about you.

Deleting cookies does not usually free up large amounts of disk space.

You might look at ccleaner, a freeware cleaning tool. It is quite useful and runs very quickly. Uncheck the box that says "delete cookies" if you want to save them.

I wouldn't recomend deleting your cookies because it just makes it more easier for online preditors to get to your computer. If anything just make it so where you can get on and talk to people. You can delete the things that you hardly usebecause that does take up a lot of space and if you do save music to your computer then you would probably want to delete a couple of songs because that also takes up a lot of space.

Delete the cookies already!! And defragment your computer (Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Disk Defragmenter).

Well, deleting your cookies will not cause your computer to crash and burn :) In fact, it isnt really harmful, it just might cause you to wait 1 second longer for websites you previously visited to load. Not that big of a deal unless you have super slow dialup.

Other things you can clean out of your hard drive are .tmp files, temp internet files, recycle bin items, and various other bits of clutter. To clean out your system as much as possible, I suggest you download CCleaner from www.ccleaner.com for free. It will scan your system and clean out any uneeded clutter.

the cookies is kind of an ID to every website you usulally log on.
If you delete the cookies, the website you are accessing to won't recognize your computer. You have to log in again.

Nothing happens, except you might have to retype a password on a few sites, but actually it's good to delete them regularly, because spyware uses them to keep track of you. I delete mine every week or so.

Sites will no longer "automatically" log you in without your password. Other information that sites track and store about you (could be important, 99% of the time not) will be lost.

It'll all come back if you revisit your old sites. If you want it to stop automatically filling in your username/passwords to sites, its a browser issue. Change your browser's settings to reset your username/password database.
