- happened to me, too. If they are light scratches, they can be buffed out. If they are deep scratches - like mine - you will have to have the metal buffed down and then your doors - or whatever - repainted. FYI, my insurance paid for most of mine. Sorry to hear of your bad day.

Depends on the amount of damage. For smaller problems there is a color coded scratch remover you can get at auto parts stores. Comes in a small bottle with a brush under the cap like a fingernail polish bottle.

If the scratches are not too deep, take it to a car detailing shop. They can compound them out and then buff or if its too deep, auto body shop.

if the primer is exposed you cant compound it out.that color would be white most of the time or a very light tan. i suggest calling your insurance company and having it repaired by a auto body shop. you can pay for it or use your liability insurance.the deductible would be 100 bucks and it would cost 200-350 bucks to repair.

Most drug stores and places like Auto Zone carry scratch and buffer applications to help fix things like this at a low cost.

I have it on my suv as well, I was given some touch up paint when I purchased it, I'm too afraid to use it that it might stain it just like applying nail polish on nails with chipped polish.

Sometimes rubbing compound helps. They usually sell it at an auto parts store.

If they are not deep you can have them buffed out . If they are deep take it to the body shop and have them paint it after you call your insurance company and let them pay for it..

They make a colored wax that you rub diagonally to the scratch.
There is also a colored crayon that you draw in small circles over the scratch.
