I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how I should start my acting career.
I'm 12 years old, I've done and completed 2 acting workshops, and I'm starting my 3rd, so I guess I'm pretty good. If I play a joke on anyone, they normally fall for it because I can act so serious and stuff... Not to boast. I take singing lessons, but I don't really like dance, so I don't do those.. Not that that really matters.

I have no clue whether I should think of going to, say, New York, L.A., or London or anything like that to get in more roles, but advice is always wonderful...

Oh, and for all the people that have told me I'm too young, PLEASE don't say it. You're never too young to act... How many babies have you seen in all the movies you've watched...?

Don't ever give up up your dream of becoming an actor. Before you think about moving or even getting an agent of any sort, do as much school plays, singing, and other acting as you possibly can. Join the drama, band dance class and especially the English classes you can. You must excel in these classes.

See if you can get into local beauty pageants and commercials as well as any local community playhouse or drama group.

Do as many roles as possible in the near future. You might also see if there are any acting schools in your local area. See if it is possible for you to get into it if there is.

I have found out that many actors are well rounded with the ability to do many things so turn nothing down try to be multi-talented.

Listen to those that have the experience and want to teach you the ropes. Learn as much as you can and be the best in any production you are in.

I hope this has been of some use to you, good luck.

At 12 years old or 20 years old you should apply and audition for as many acting parts as you can. You not only have to have the ability to act but also to remember many lines, get along with your peers, instructors and director.

At 12 years old it would be difficult if not impossible for you to be on your own in LA, NYC etc. for many reasons. Will anyone chaperon? Obviously you are too young to sign a lease, be employed in between roles and therefore unable to support yourself.

My advice to you is what many established actors advise - stay in school - get involved in as many amateur or school productions while in school - that includes College. You might want to consider shooting for the Colleges and Universities that specialize in theater and TV ( six years down the road).

Your parents or guardian might want to consider hiring an agent for any child roles that come up in the interim. Selecting the right Agent is another question they/you will have to ponder.

Bottom Line - don't give up your desire to become an actress but be realistic.

Best of luck in your journey.

>Acting... Help with a career?

I'd say finding some likes and continuing to do them in some form or other works. Looking for jobs advertised and going to as many interviews as possible can make you become better in job interviews. Working hard isn't easy you can learn a lot from the process. Meeting many many people there are ways to be found.
Thinking together and thinking oneself they're very important. Goodluck.

My only advice to you, is get an agent. A really good agent. And don't get your hopes up.

Get more experience in a local community theater.

Also, hun, if your only 12, you shouldn't be taking voice lessons, because you could ruin your voice. For real.
