Couldn't they be one and the same. Table. Napkin. What's the difference? They are both things you put your food on. Any thing can be made into a napkin. Why not a loin cloth? Waste not what not. Maybe both. I think the mini-skirt and the belt came at the same time, why not the table and the loin cloth? And I have seen fig leaves get rather large and tables get rather small.

Adam and Eve had a table for their meals long before they had leaves to cover their genitals which they only became aware of after Eve watched some porn..

Hmm...I would guess table. They had to know that eating from the floor while sitting on the floor wasn't comfortable. Unless they just ate what they caught then and there...ouch this question is good.

there were people in the ice age ,and they ccovered themselves with animal skins to keep warm .
so that was one of the first things people did .
they also ate and must have used raised surfaces to keep the food away from the dogs and ants
so it is hard to say which came first
best bet is the skins
