Hardee's, Carl's JR., Green Burrito and La Salsa restaurants are all part of the CKE restaurants chain.(Carl N. Karcher Enterprises) Carl Jr's are mainly in the western states and Hardee's is mainly in the Midwest and Southeastern States.
They have some overlapping areas and you may find both franchises in some areas such as St. Louis for an example. Hardee's introduced the 6 dollar burger and has dropped it to seem more upscale with the Angus thick-burger. Carl's Jr still offers the 6 dollar burger on it's menu.

Owned by the same company yes. I am from the mid west where we only have Hardees. When I went to California I seen Carl Jr's and wondered the same thing. I looked into it and the reason they have different types of food is because certain food is liked in some regions more than others. However I still find this perplexing because McDonalds is the same all over! Subway, Burger King...ect. Then again McD's only serves bagels in the Midwest and subway only serves soup part of the time in California as to where here in Indiana it is served all year long. So in a way it does make sense!

Yes, they are the same. Just a different name in different states. I live in indiana and it's called Hardee's here, but when my husband went to arizona for 3 weeks, the name of it was called Carl Jr's. He said they had the same food, as the Hardee's did here at home, but a little different.

Yes they are owned by the same corporation. Carl's Jr. is on the West Coast and Hardee's is on the East Coast.

Its probably the same company, just different product.
Just like anything else on the market these days, shampoo brands in example,...one brand 400 different choices. Its probably the same deal
