It's pathetic, isn't it? Where does that thinking come from? Only God is perfect... Dr. Phil calls these people "Right Fighters"! I love it when he asks, "Do u want 2 b happy, or do u want 2 b right?" In the scheme of things, happiness and making peace is better for u; ur health; ur spirit; etc.

Unfortuanately, some people find it almost impossible 2 admit 2 even minor mistakes bc it's considered being strong. I never thought that showed strength. Oh well.

I hope this helps.

Because they probably have low self-esteem and/or have an inferiority complex. Admitting that they did something wrong (i.e. something that might cause people to criticize them) would only make their self-esteem worse. So, they try to deny it and/or get out of it, in any way possible.

I've found it's sometimes useful to be generous with compliments with these people. :) I don't mean to compliment them for no reason -- but if they do something good, or if they say something you agree with, or even if they wear something that looks nice, give them a compliment. It won't repair their self-esteem completely, but it can't do anything but help. And perhaps, in the long run, the person will be more likely to admit when he/she is wrong.

Or maybe I'm just too optimistic and idealistic! *grin* But I really do think this would work!

It is actually a defemnse mechanism as a result of love self esteem These people know they make mistakes but are in fear that if they admit they are wrong(human) That noone will like them They are usually not aware of this psychological process It is actuaklly very sad/ They have created thier owm prison from being free to be who they are faults and all. Yhe phrase "I don't know" opens a person to the freedom to learn

No one wants to be wrong. So that's why it's hard to admit to minor mistakes. I only bet peeps for real $ when I know that I'm 100% positive that I'm right... lol. As a result, peeps usually end up not betting me cuz they know that I don't bet for real lol. Then I don't make my $20 or whatever... Oh well.... When it comes to betting I don't wanna be wrong. If I bet someone which team was gonna win & was wrong it'd disappoint me not cuz I'm supposed to lose $ as a result, but also cuz I don't like to be wrong.

I think it all boils down to peeps kinda feeling let down in a way, & no one likes to feel anything negative.

Stubbornness and pride are the two elements preventing the possibility of admittance. Even in war no one wants to give up their position. One side has to admit error/mistake in order to create peace. All peace plans fail for this reason alone. Kill the ego and something new emerges.

People are conditioned to be perfect. We are told that perfection is not possible, but we are punished (or reprimanded or ridiculed) for making mistakes. This leads people to creating personas that keep a facade of perfection. Hence, it's difficult to admit mistakes because it would require admitting that we are human. Everything in our society tells us that is simply not okay.

Right. Some people find it very difficult to admit to even minor mistakes because they fear that somehow their lack of perfection proves their inability to measure up to everyone else. By admitting that we are imperfect, we are admitting that we are somehow lacking, which some people fear more than anything.

I find that people would rather focus on someone elses faults than their own, its a pride thing, they feel like their degrading themselves when admitting to a mistake.

Lack of Humility. They are more committed to "looking good", rather than doing good. They would rather be "right" than be human. They lack the courage to be okay! They are not funny people. There is so much humor in humans.Fart and run and blame it on someone else or the dog!
