I do NOT agree with this policy of Yahoo answers
If people are asking the questions then their needs to be honest answers. I got a violation for answering a suicide question, i gave an honest answer and got a violation, Not right.

i will report vulgar and racist stuff. I don't see how you would be reported for real questions unless it was in the wrong category. Maybe people are just trying to get you to post your question in the right place. I mean this really isn't a society/culture question, it should be in the Yahoo Answers category, not that I'm going to report you or anything.

It's only stuff that people complain about, which are usually petty things that most people wouldn't be offended at. Most people don't even read the vulgar racist stuff, so it's not even reported.

When I see a blatently racist post I report it. But I don't go looking for them.
their are always idiots out there that report people just to be annoying.

Yeah, it all seems kind of arbitrary. Someone posts something in a foreign language and they are automatically removed, but people post racist and sexually explicit stuff and nothing...

It does seem unfair, I apparently once was chatting and not asking questions. I think yahoo wants to ticket everyone off until no one uses their services anymore
