I have 2 PCs at home both having Win XP. i connected them using Cross over cable. I am able to ping between the PCs. I ran the Setup network wizard and added my PCs to a workgroup WG.
After this, in one of the PCs, i can see the other PC in My Network Places. But if I try to open, it says " Not accessible. Don't have permission. Contact ur admin". I am not able to see the link to this PC in the other PC. How can i solve this problem?

I made a mistake in the question. I am able to ping from PC-A to PC-B but not from PC-B to PC-A.
What could be the problem?

Create a new share on the PC you want to access.
The default share (C$) doesn't allow others access... only locals.
It'll be in the Properties of the hard drive in Explore.

go onto the 2nd computer and right click any drives or folders you need to access from the first computer. Right click and look for "sharing" select this and follow the prompts.
You may need to select full access and "allow network users to change my files" Also.. install a firewall to prevent outside users from getting in. you will need to allow your own network computers to bypass the firewall.

Have you tried logging in the Win XP administrator account? Maybe that could work... Sorry if this isn't much useful.
