79 kz650. I want to put pod air filters on it. what main jets should i use (stock 97.5) thanks

you should see how it runs first.

generally bikes are jetted fat from the factory, so when you get more airflow, it leans out naturally. It may be just perfect.

Get new plugs and after a few runs on the new filters, see what they look like.
Jet from there.

I know that with Yamaha 650s, Mike's XS (www.mikesxs.com ) recommends going up at least one size. If you have more air coming in, the bike will burn too lean - so beware.

See if there is a kz650 owners group similar to that of the Yam 650s. Lots of info and resources there...

Start about 10%over and work from there Dont believe the idiot who told you you dont need to jet

if all your doing is putting on a less restrictive air filter you dont need to rejet.,now if you change the exhaust it another story.
