I heard B. Cox had selected a team he could build into the sort of success that were the Braves of a few years ago -- that he was interested in long-term success, rather than winning every game.

Looking at the short-term results, though, I have to wonder what he saw in his new picks and why he let go some of the other talent and why he kept certain people.

Unless things turn drastically around, I can't see the Braves having a team worth watching. This year, I caught a few of their games on satellite, and I've seen "highlights" from most of them; whereas I used to not mind sitting down with some popcorn and a soda to watch them play, now it's like watching unedited golf.

Yaw-aw-aw-awwwwnnnnnnn. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

It pains me to say this because I have been following the Braves since they were in Boston and then when they moved to Milwaukee and on to Atlanta. Their poor showing this year is indeed a puzzlement because they have the best manager in baseball, a solid hitting lineup, and a fairly good pitching staff, with the exception of the bullpen which is really bad. Soooo, I do not think they can make up enough ground to make the playoffs this year.

SADLY!!

Nope. Unlike the Braves teams of the past, the cupboard is bare when it comes to pitching talent. And no Leo Mazzone to work miracles anymore, either.

No, they have fallen so far, so fast...I love it. They'll be lucky to get back to .500. Now, if we could get the Yankees to lose about 25 games in a row, the wheels of karma would begin to spin true again.(Personally I think Mazzone had a pact with the devil)

I hope so with all my heart but probably not unless they win like 30 of their next 40 games or so.
