try alternate location like http://www.zdnet.com or http://www.downloads.com etc or u can download with the help of getright or DAP but these are efficient only when u download full software (like msn messenger) but if u r downloading yahoo messenger which downloads dynamically from yahoo website then these downloadars are not helpful. Zdnet supports full software download of yahoo messenger.

I don't know why, but I have a few things you can try:
1) Restart your computer and try again
2) Try downloading an older version
3) Go to gaim.com and download the gaim instant messanger. It works with several instant messangers(one at a time, not all at once), including yahoo and aim.
