I was told there's a model that in discontinued and I wonder if it's true and what model it is. I heard it doesn't have a screen on it like the newer ones that lists the songs that are playing on.

Shuffle is the only model that doesn't have a screen. It isn't discontinued, however. It comes in both 512MB and 1GB models.
