Hey! What's the deal with your grandma! lol
The most common lies are Santa Claus, that when your dog dies it didn't really die but was taken to some ranch or something

when i was a real small boy of 3,4 or 5 i asked my daddy why he was missing his hand? my father told me "oeddie, i was at the red sox game and it was the ninth inning of a 2-2 game and it was a real nail biter...!" then he enlightened me as to the evils of biting ones fingernails and the consequences of same.
i later found out through the older guys in the neighborhood that my father lost his left hand to the wrist to a grenade in ww2 italy with the 10th mountain division. 50 years after it happened dad was in the same village in which he had lost his hand and an older local fellow started talking to a guy in my dad's group and started pointing excitedly at my dad when he turned and ran over to dad and started hugging him and rambling on in italian. dad didn't know what it was but he knew something was up. it wasn't unusual for people in these small hill towns and villages to hug and kiss these guys even 50 years later. the 10th mountaineers are the very guys who liberated the italians from the germans. so they are still, especially the older ones, very grateful. so it turns out the guy was right there when pops lost the hand to the grenade and this guy had wondered whatever happened to the gi that got blown up. so don't bite your fingernails!

When I asked the infamous question, "where do babies come from?" They told me that I was a monkey that had lived at the zoo and one day they picked me up and shaved all the hair off of me and took me home. I believed that for along time and I remember every time a saw monkeys on TV, I would always wonder if that was my real mom and dad...LMAO..(I can do that now...lol..)....but it was quite devastating when I was little...hehe

My dad always snickered about my some day "marrying a little black girl". So the lie was that that would be a joke and the black race is a joke. I actually married a white woman - but it is difficult to entirely erase racism when you're exposed to it like that early on. I do have black friends at work whom I like.

in the states, they been famous for santa claus, tooth fairy, easter bunny and the boogey man.
back home, its rough. they say, if you have your period, do not sit beside any man, you might get pregnant. that is why i avoided getting near to any man while i was growing up.
but the worst of all, my mom told me that she sold one of her property to send me to school, i never heard what happened to the rest of the money, as of this day, she tell me that, i guess to put a guilt trip on me?
