About two years ago I began getting frequent yeast infestions. They occur mainly after a few days of having sex with my partner. I also get them before menstration. I know the reasons for getting them before menstration but I dont know why I seem to get them from having sex often. I am on birth control, but my gynocologist insists that birth control is not the innitial cause, but i've read otherwise on different medical FAQ websites. I dont have aids or any other type of sexually transmitted dieses, and I dont have diabedes. My partner also has no sexually transmitted dieses. Having these reaccuring infections are not only affecting me but they are also affecting my relationship. I do not want to loose my partner nor do I want to continue dealing with these horrid infections. If anyone has similar problems, or has had and found a solution please write back. All of your responses will be greatly appreciated.

Yeast infections can come from many thing's. Such as a wet swim suit being wore to long. Antibiotics and other medications.
A simple treatment is cranberry tablets, yogurt , acidophiles milk,
or whole or jellied cranberry from a can, like you eat at Thanksgiving. My Grand-Daughter ( 9 ) , used to get them often & since the DR has her drinking the cranberry juice in her lunch box and taking the tablet's she has not had a reoccurance.
Hope this help's you.
Sincerely, Jeannie~

Yeast infections come out in warm moist places... your mouth, vagina etc. Yes, birth control can make you get more. It could be possible that you have a canidida albicans overgrowth in your body. I would highly suggest that you go on a yeast control diet and take some probiotics. At least eat yogurt everyday. Get some with more than one active culture. I buy Stoneybrook Farms Organic. It has four active cultures.

Please consider this. I am not joking with you. My sister is dealing with this right now. This is not something that most doctors will acknowledge. Do your own research and consider alternative medicine. It can become a serious problem. My cousin almost died from a canidida overgrowth.

You are in luck!
I'm an RN and no longer suffer from that monster.

It is mainly caused by 2 things.
Too much yeast in your diet. Bread and beer are the biggest culprits. Cut back on the amount of yeast, your body is taking in.

Number 2 reason. If you wear jeans and panties that fit very tight in the crotch, that can cause it, as well.

ALWAYS make sure that the panties you wear, have a COTTON crotch.

Lycra, spandex, or any shiny fabric, as found in little sexy nighties will give you a yeast infection faster than you can spell it.

Switch to cotton underwear for awhile. Atleast the crotch area.

Your normal flora may also be low.
That is the normal bacteria(little trees) that grow in the vagina naturally.

THEY are your friends. They kill yeast. If your normal flora is low, it can't fight(eat) the yeast.

You just swallow a pill every day, for that.
GET A BETTER GYNOCOLOGIST!!!!!
I work for one. I can't BELIEVE he couldn't diagnose that!
It's SO common! Believe me. Drop him like a hot rock. He should have known these things.

Call your local hospital and ask them for a referal for a good gynocologist. There's just no excuse for that.

Good Luck sweet pea!

Ok. This could be due to many things. Please don't take offense:

Are you both clean? And I mean like wash regularly. If he uses his hands near or on your genitals, make sure he washes first and cleans his fingernails. Same goes for you!
Do you wear underwear? If so, wear cotton only. If not, start now and change everyday. (Gross, I know, but there are people that wear underwear for more than one day. eeww)
Do you use douches? Either slow down or just stop altogether. Our bodies clean themselves naturally in this way; occasional douching is ok, but it can actually cause problems for you if you use it too much.
I have a zine with more info on how to avoid yeast infections, I'll add more when I get home.

From the zine. Stuff to do and not do when you have a yeast infection:
-Avoid comsuming sugar and alcohol in all forms. Seriously, the infection thrives on this stuff.
-Avoid consuming breads unless they're yeast-free.
-Eat tons of fresh veggies.
-Birth control CAN be a causing factor. Try getting off the pill (or whatever it is) or get a lower dosage and see if it helps. It probably will help because high doses of estrogen causes the uterine-lining cells to produce more glycogen (which is sugar!). Now that's something the gyno's don't tell us.
-If you're on antibiotics, take acidophilus with them. Antibiotics kill off friendly bacteria, which then promotes yeast growth. Crappy.
-Treat your parter, too. He might be reinfecting you. Both of you should take Cranactin capsules (equivalent to 16 eight oz. glasses of unsweetened cran juice). Wash and have him wash genitals, hands and mouths before sex.
During and after infection:
-Get a natural soap. Go to a health nut store and read the ingredients on the soaps. If you can't pronounce it, don't use it. Most name brand soaps are harsh alkaline and they can mess up the acidic PH of your sensitive area.
-Don't wear tight pants.
-Stay clean, eat well. Treat yourself better and slow down on blaming yourself. This could be as much his fault as yours.

Maybe you're not entirely getting rid of the infection! Talk to your doctor again! Or use the seven day treatment for like 14 days! Make sure after you have sex you clean up really well!

Don't wear tight pants!

Sometimes a yeast infection can follow a urinary tract infection and vice versa. Have your doctor check it out!

I had the same problem with oral sex. My husband had to make sure he "sanitized his mouth". I know is doesn't sound romantic, but it beats having a yeast infection. My body was also sensitive to condoms. That might be one thing to check (if you use them). You could also just have alot of yeast in your body. Try cutting back on sugar or look into herbal remedies. I really hope you find something that works for you.

I had this problem a few years ago. It could be your partner needs to be checked. You can pass the yeast infection on to him and you could be bouncing it back and forth to each other. Without both of you having simultaneous treatment, it will just keep happening.

Oral sex and or anal sex will cause yeast infections. Human mouth is very dirty as is the other. It took me a while to figure out what was causing mine. It was the oral sex. If we used a good mouthwash before sex, if did help. Hope it helps. Yeast infections are miserable.
