I'm assuming you mean in "Biology"... My idea is more of an insect (Entomology?)project. I wanna know how far will ants go for food or water. We have the little tiny black ants at the shop and their "trails" go for at least 10 - 15 feet. It's hard to believe that the food/water brought back to the colony justifies the energy spent making the journey (in 100 degree heat even!).

how about the effects of specific pollutants in an ecosystem?
Examine waterand soil quality before and after the introduction of a common and hazardous product that could make its way into the environment.
It is a mix of ecology and biology, depending on the angle you want to take it.
