When trying to conceive the one vitamin you should take is Folic Acid. It helps prevent certain birth defects such as spina bifida. Other than that no vitamins are required. Healthy eating is the best way.

most OBs recommend prenatals. this will help you more than anything to begin storing up the vitamins that you'll be somewhat deprived of while pregnant. being pregnant takes a lot of nutrients out of your body, and if you aren't making sure you're getting adequate nutrition, you body can and will take the nutrition it needs right out of your bones and tissues. so it seems like a good idea to make sure that your body has a full supply of all the nutrients it takes to make a healthy baby. Also, folic acid will be needed by the baby right away, and it's highly recommended to be taking this supplemement before you even begin trying to conceive.

When my husband and I were trying for a baby, I watched a program on Discovery Channel about alternative medicines for conception. They suggested 3 products called Red Clover, Red Raspberry & Vitex Castus ( or Chaste Tree), they all help to balance out your hormones. Available at most health food shops and some pharmacies. After 5 years of trying and two miscarrages, we tried the chaste tree. I took it for 3 months, along with a multi - vitamin, our son was on his way.
I again used the chaste tree to try for another baby and took it for two weeks only, when we concieved our second son.

We had difficulties conceiving our first daughter (now pregnant with second, woohoo!) but I went the natural route with regulating my messed up cycles rather then using fertility drugs. Of course folic acid is important for all reproductive aged women, that's a given, but one vitamin, B6 i known to enhance fertility, it did help me to regulate my cycles. A full B-complex will include folic acid and B6 and have you covered.

Doggy style. It may not be a vitamin but it puts you in the best position for conception. Shoulders down to the bed, back arched downward, and but up in the air. Yeeeehaw!
