why is my pool water green and how do i fix it?

I bought pool chemicals from walmart and not the water is green what do i do?

double up on pool shock, then leave it alone

sometimes we put too much into the pool and also, when the water temperature goes from warm to cool etc, problems arise. My pool was a 'lovely' pond green until I double shocked it

Sounds like algae. Make sure one of those chemicals is algaecide and add it about once a week.
