You must isolate x. In order to do this you have to divide each side by negative 1.
-x=10
-(1)x/-1=10/-1
X= -10

-x is equal to 10. so x would be the opposite which is -10. Basically if 10 is equal to -x. Then -10 is equal to x. This problem is really already solved.

when 10= -x, it's just like saying that 10= (-1)x. so, solve for it like any other number were there in that spot. divide by negative one on both sides and you end up with x= -10.
