The beaches are great, lots of scantily clad women and the nightlife is off the chain.... but actually you should be asking him that question.

Why didn't you ask him? If he didn't want to tell you... well, I suspect he won't be your boyfriend when he returns. If he can't be honest with why he is gone. Move on!
