It has long been a tradition not to walk across a grave if at all possible. To walk on a grave on purpose is an injustice to the person buried there. To dance on that grave is a display of no respect and resentment for the person who lies beneath.

I pity the person who has ill feelings strong enough to dance on the grave. The dead do not know they are being danced over, and the living have to live with a bitterness that eats their soul like acid.

To literally dance on a grave, would be to show extreme disrespect for the deceased, particularly for a former enemy (or victim) of the deceased. It is very much like (although cleaner) than [urinating] on the grave. It would be something a victim would enjoy doing after years of hassles from some rotten person. There's an old joke about an army drill sergeant who's just been yelling at his recruits. He gets in one's face and says, "I'll bet you'll be glad when I die so you can [urinate] on my grave!" The private looks back and says, No Sarge, I promised when I left the Army, I'd never stand in line again!"

If a person tells another, "I'll dance on your grave," it means he or she will outlive the other person and celebrate by dancing on the grave.

I believe it means taking glee and pleasure in the death of another. I t does not mean having closure or forgiveness; quite the contrary. It alows the deceased to continue control and negative influence on the living. Learning the lessons from the deceased helps the ret of us to go on.
