You don't need a college education to become a Realtor (it helps if you want to go into commercial real estate though). If you just want to do residential, then you are best off taking the classes and test to get your license and then working under a successful Broker/agent so they can train you. After about a year or so, you can break out on your own and will be well set up to be successful. The key to making $$ in real estate is connections and networking. So make sure you enjoy that before pursuing a career in it.

Going a major firm like Remax or Coldwell bankers, they pay for you to learn how to be an agent, when you sign a year with them. Then you can move to your next locale. No need for college. Look also in the classified section of the newspaper, sometimes speciality schools offer classes during the times you can take them! Good Luck!
