What are the chances of England really winning against Portugal on Saturday? On a world cup stage these two teams have played two games - each winning one and losing one.

I total, they have played ten games ~ England winning three, and losing two, while Portugal winning two and losing three. Drawing the rest. So what are the chances for England to make it to the last four?

I've only seen Portugal's last 2 matches, and wasn't impressed by them. Especially with 2 of their key players out, I think England will handle them.

That's a tough question...since England has been very lucky to go as far as they have in this WC. They really haven't been playing all that great. If it is gonna be as hot of a day as it was today, then you are going to have a lot of slow and dehydrated British player (and Becks probably heaving again).

It also depends on how many players get carded again. About half of Portugal’s team got carded in their game with Holland, so they may hold back a bit....for the chance that they do move on, that they would still have some remaining players and not just the reject players.

My hope is that England wins

I think without two of their best players, Ronaldo injured and Deco suspended, they won't be able to make enough chances to beat England. The commentaters also say that England play better against the "big" teams and will definetly step up a few gears against Portugal. England's defence and midfield is too strong for Portugal, pity we lost Owen. Can't wait to see Portugal go home.

I think England have a very good chance because they have play average the whole time and still getting the wins while portugal had to try hard to get wins even against Angola. They also do no have their playmaker Deco who is suspendid through a red card in the previous match with the Netherland.

Considering the couple of red cards on key players of Portugal, I think England stand a very good chance of at least beating Port. I still have reservations however that they'll make it to the end judging by the manner they had played their games till now.

Portugal is playing better but with their last match against Netherlands, they'll be missing two of their main players. That match was crazy! So now I think England will win, if they play a little better than how they have been.

Ye shall not doubt the mighty three lions....now after Portugal being without two of their top players, I feel we have a great chance. After playing a mess of a match like Por Ned did...they will come out very timid on Saturday. England, while they have been very short of spectacular, look to be improving their form match by match....Ecu had very few chances today

I have watched Portugal and let me tell you they will not beat England. England has fitter and better players like Gerrard, Lampard, Joe Cole, Beckham, and especially ROONEY. Ronney will be the one that finishes portugal off. Rooney is getting stronger and stronger and portugal will not be able to stop him hes just too good for any defender.
