Go to the yahoo search engine and type in the state you are living in and then put in "renters rights". You will get lots of help there.

Most states have landlord-tenant laws that "favor" the tenant. So depending on what the "unjust cause" is, you have rights and don't have to hire an attorney to learn them...Get to the library and you will easily find books/info specific to your state.
Check out your Secretary of State website - Here in AZ, landlords are required to provide tenants w/ a copy of the actual Landlord/Tenant Act....good luck

You can contest an eviction, just show up at court and state why you feel that you have a right to stay put.
