It is very possible. In 1992, 2000+ meditation masters gathered in Washington DC to try a psychokinetic experiment over the course of the summer. The intent was to see if by having that many people meditating on thoughts of love, happiness and goodwill, it would have an effect on the population of the city. At the time, washington DC had one of the worst violent crime rates in the country(not to be confused with regular crime rates). Anyways, over the course of the summer, the crime rate lowered by 25%. Proving that a little love can make a world of difference. You should watch the movie What the bleep do we know, very informative.

hi. A very thoughtful question! I dunno. It doesn't look good. I believe it has to be an individual thing. No program or ideal or institution can do it. Institutions do a lot of good but the world is still going downhill. Until we can see & accept & understand all the inner "demons" in ourselves and find the love that we really are than it appears that this ship is heading for rough seas.If we can find the peace and love within ourselves it automatically spreads 2 others without us even having to do anything(of course if one feels compelled to take action than at least it is coming from a peaceful center). It's like the power of one candle to light a dark room. One little candle clears out a certain amount of the darkness. The light spreads and maybe that light(who we are)ignites another candle and so and so on.......
It's up to each individual.

Yes. Love, is the most important things of the world, after your life. Love, that is burning all of our energy, and we can run like a horse. I mean, with enough love we cannot only turn ship, but we can change the world. Love, with that we can destroy all darkness in our heart.Love, that's a sweet gift from our Creator.

Yes, but reality is not a ship, it's our world with various ways of life, and unfortunately until the cultures that choose to stay in the dark ages realize there's a beautiful world out there, the ship as you say, is going to remain anchored, and or sink.

How much is enough? I do not think that with enough love we can turn this ship around.Knowledge of life and truth helps us to do this.
Man is basically good this means we can turn this ship around.

I seriously doubt it. No matter how much love an individual or even a group of people may have to share, it means nothing to the receiver if they do not desire to be loved, or cannot appreciate it.
Consider all these whackos that kill people in love for their God. Talk about confused people. If you loved anyone you wouldn't kill at all.
One of the writings in the Bible states "love thy neighbor as thyself". If you do that, you would automatically be obeying all of the commandments of God. If you love someone you won't kill them, you won't steal from them, you won't covet their family or things, etc. Of course it would help if you loved yourself first.
It's almost hilarious to think that very few people on earth will be saved, if God really does exist and passes judgement on us.

Love will help. Hard work is also needed. Edmund Burke's famous saying that all evil needs to triumph is for good men to do nothing (paraphrased slightly), We are in the shape we (the world) are in, because for too long, good men have not paid proper attention or gotten lazy or indifferent.
