I am worried about the lines. Can anybody give me an idea of what to expect if I go?

YES! There will be LONG lines. They have a fireworks special for the 4th of July so the park gets crowded. Here are some tips for going to Universal:
If the park closes later... go later. Trust me! Most peopl;e think that the best thing to do is to wake up early, thats when most of the people start the day at the park. I found that if you start your day around 2 (depending on how late the park is open) most people are tired and ready to leave. Especially mommies and daddies with kids... there the first to go.
Also, for and extra 30 or so dollars, Universal offers a fast pass for every ride so that you skip the lines. It makes the wait time less and it is well worth it!

Hope that helped!

I would wait it out for another time. I went to Universal at the beginning of January and I waited about 15 minutes to enter the parking lots, then I stood at the ticket enterance line for about half an hour. The lines weren't bad at first, but as the day went on the ride-lines became rediculously long (Had to wait about half an hour or so to go on the MIB ride, and it wasn't worth it for a 2 minute ride).

It might not be bad in the morning, but it might get quite busy as the day goes on.

I think it would be fun to go then. But plan on buying the Express pass for the lines. You still have to wait a little, but the lines won't be as much of a problem if you just buy the pass. Make sure to eat at Jimmy Buffett's at CityWalk. It's awesome!

Going to Orlando in July is going to be VERY busy. You're going to have lines, traffic, heat and humidity. You can still have fun but you're going to have to be patient with your surroundings. It's also going to be more expensive now then waiting until later in the summer or fall.

Long lines for most of the summer. Where sunscreen, drink plenty of water, and enjoy yourself! You can expect long lines just about anywhere in the summer!

Have a great vacation.
