As far as I know: the simple answer is nothing will kill weeds but not harm garden plants..a herbicide simple attacks plants . Selective herbicides kill specific targets while leaving the desired crop relatively unharmed; but these are the ones that target broad leaf and leave grass alone (like weed and feed). If your plants were grasses you might find something. Your plants are broad leaf and so are your weeds hence springs the unfortunate truth: no.

You can kill weeds without using poison (weed killer is considered a pesticide) by using straight vinegar on them before they become too established...Salt on weeds between cracks in a block patio walk (no salt near flowering plants) works.

The best way to control weeds is with weed block paper. (actually most is made today from plastic.) Just put down the weed block and poke holes to plant your plants (or cut slits). This means you are going to have to spout seeds somewhere else and transplant them. Then put a layer of mulch over the entire garden bed. Weeds will practically become a thing of the past.. Takes more time to prepare; but pays for itself in less worry and bother trough out the season. The mulch helps keep the moisture in so you water less.

Never use any kind of pesticide wither it be weed killer or bug killer near vegetables unless you want to eat poisons. Jerry Baker can help with safe controls in the vegetable garden!

Happy gardening and may all you bulbs bloom!

PS So go to the library or a bookstore and pick up some of Jerry Baker's books he has many safe (environmental friendly) formulas one can make from common household products. And your plants will become very happy little fellas.

I have always pulled the plants I don't want out by their roots. If you have pets, do not use "Round Up" it will make them very ill, if not kill them.

Sheryl,
What you should do is, go to Wal-Mart or something and buy some "Round-Up" and put it in your spray thing. before spraying the garden. get some coffee cans and cover your plants.
