static guard if out and about. if you are doing a wash, use fabric sheets when drying the clothes to avoid static. occasionally when I've wet my hands and put them on my clothes the static went away. if possible increase humidity in your home.

I put dryer sheets in when drying the clothes, but even so sometimes need to spray with some of those sprays for static.
We never had this problem when we hung our clothes out on a clothesline (back in the dark ages).

If the static is really bad I rub a downy dryer sheet on the clothes and it does go away...

there are linen sprays made specifically to get the static out.. another good way is to iron the clothing or dry it with dryer sheets

Use fabric softener when you wash them and a drier sheet when you dry them... If you have static after, in a emergency you can use aerosol hairspray.

keep a mist bottle handy, and set it on the finest spray setting it will allow you. You won't get the clothes noticably wet, and the water will help dissipate the charge.

If dryer sheets don't work, rub hand lotion on them, spray hair spray on them. Or buy static guard.
