How old do they want you to be before you wear make-up?

Maybe you can compromise with them, like if you get good grades or do extra chores that you can wear a little on the wekends or something. I am a pareent, and I would respect my child for coming up with a mature plan like that, what I wouldn't give into is crying, whining, talking back, slamming doors or "but my friend's mom let's her wear make-up".

Try being calm and adult like and then even if they say no, take it in stride, because they may re-consider, but only if you were very good about it.

P.S. If you like someone's answer, make sure to vote them as the best answer. It seems like not enough people on this board do that.

First of all, girls your age don't need to wear base. That's usually used to cover up flaws that don't come along until years, years later. The only time you need to use a foundation is to cover pimples, because a good matching foundation will blend better than concealer. Your parents would probably let you use it for this reason, if you do have acne.

Otherwise? I think at your age, you can wear some lipgloss, and that should be enough.

I'm 25, and I don't wear makeup--other than occasional concealer and powder. I have a three year old daughter, and I stopped wearing makeup because I felt I was setting a poor example for her. She'd come in to the bathroom and say, "I want to be beautiful, too!" But she already is.

Chances are, that's how your parents feel about you. You're already beautiful.

Why do you want makeup? Is it to attract boys, or to compete with girls? Or is it because you don't think you're beautiful? None of those are very healthy reasons. The truth is, I don't think there are any healthy reasons to wear makeup. If you can accept yourself as you are, you don't need it.

When you're older and you have reached that self acceptance, if you have fun searching for the perfect lipstick to match your dress, go for it. It's fun, sure.

But for now, you can have other kinds of fun. Don't get stuck in this materialist, image obsessed trap so early in your life.

ok so ya, I'm 13 too. My mom and dad don't like me to wear A LOT of makeup but they still let me wear it. I don't know what bass means but I think you mean base? so ya, like foundation and stuff that kind of thing? well, you can't tell your wearing it anyways so I don't think it would matter! During the school year if they still haven't let you wear it yet then go to school put it on there when you get there, then take it off on the bus on the way home or right before school is over! It works like me and almost every girl at my school does that if there not allowed to wear makeup! if you have anymore questions just ask me! I can really help you, I'm going through the same thing!

Depend's on how much you are going to put on. When I was 12 I used to sneek lipstick on the bus and I only ever now wear eyeliner, eye shadow, mascara and a tinted chapstick (Im 23). It isn't really necessary for too much else. Cover up's can cause wrinkles along with any make up. Don't wear it if it isn't the correct color and sit and talk with someone older who doesn't wear clown like make-up to teach you how to do it right. Remember to covor red spots, dark bags under the eyes, and zits use a lighter color then ur natural complexion (not too much lighter, just a shade) Don't wear darker bass then your skin is already or you will look fake. Natural is better

ask mom and dad to compromise- tell them (and they know it's true) you could go to school and put on full war-paint from your friends' stash. But you'd rather be honest and just 'enhance' yourself a little. So ask if you couldn't try a little mascara and see what they think and how you like it. Then advance a little at a time. MY parents were very strict and I was the oldest of 5 children- I wasn't allowed to wear make-up until I was 16! (but I did when I got to school and when my parents figured it out, we were able to compromise.........they figured out that they can't control everything in my life, but I could also appreciate their motovation was for MY best interests.) Be honest with your parents and TALK to them- it's amazing what that will do for both you AND your parents.

At 12 you have a natural beauty, I wouldn't suggest wearing any makeup. If you must talk to your parents and see about wearing a little lip gloss and maybe mascara. I let my daughter do this when she was about your age. It was a compromise on both parts, it help to boost her self confidence and she wasn't wearing a ton of makeup.

I think that you can start to wear clear lip glosses. Take care of your skin and hair, keep them clean. Tinted sunscreens might be better than basic foundations on your skin. Keep your skin moisturized an clean. That is attractive. Listen to your parents. They only want the best for you. Talk with them what you would like to do and why.

Try asking your parents if you can wear natural looking makeup. Like lip gloss that matches your lip color, a eyesadow that is very light like a pale pink or beige, and some mascara that doesnt clump. Offer to show them how it would look on you and see how they like it. Natural looking makeup is the best looing.
