the other day it was just too warm and i felt that perhaps it wasn't cool enough in the kitchen.

Be sure you clean the blades first before turning it on. Also check the small slide switch on the side of the housing. If it is the down position the air should blow down. DO NOT try this switch while the blades are turning. The pull chain controls the speed either 3 or 4 speeds. It is not easy to install blades upside down. As long all are tilted in the same direction they should be ok.
I don't know if you have a flush mount or a down rod version. You will not notice a wobble with a flush mount. A down rod lets the fan hang a little lower from the higher ceilings and if the blades not balanced, they will wobble at faster speeds.

there is olnly one way to install the blades try changing direction of the fan that is possible there is a switch on the fan above the light and just before the blades

Depends on if you want to feel the air, or have the air drawn up. You should be able to feel air movement when you put your hand beneath the blades, if not, they could be backwards.
