I loved Marco Van Basten as a player. He was the best pure striker maybe to ever play the game and his career was cut short to injury. I would have thought that a striker of his caliber would understand the importance of such a force as RUUD Van Nilsteroy, but as the rest of the world, I was wrong. It is time to hang them up Marco!

I dont even think the Dutch know the answer to that. In my mind, they are now grouped with Ecudor and the U.S. as teams that should have done everything in their power to try and score and, far from failing to put it into the net, just didnt even go about it correctly.

Why they didnt put him in at all is the biggest question of the World Cup. He definitaly would have scored at least one of those chances late in the game, and i believe he was the Netherlands' best player. I blame it on the coach's stupidity.
