I am white. I have an equal amount of friends that are black and Mexican. I was racist though at about 15. It was a very determined wonderful strong minded black woman who brought me out of it. I was like that because people of other races besides yours ARE somewhat different. It was hard for me to understand and at that age my family, my mentors, told me this is how you should be and I believed that. There is racism of every color and it is all a matter of ignorance. What needs to be understood is that it is our differences that make us special and wonderful and should be celebrated, not hated.

I think, in all honesty, there's a little bit of racist in us all. It's how we react to it when confronted that causes any issues. I don't have black/white issues myself, but there are a few other races that get on my nerves and I've found that a lack of knowledge on these cultures is one of the many reasons for that feeling. Now will I go and harrass any of them simply because of their race? No. As a black woman I've experienced enough racism in my life to know better and to know that it will solve nothing. Hating someone because of their skin color isn't beneficial to anyone, so why do it? It's a complete waste of energy and resources that I'm sure people would find better use for elsewhere.

I'm not sure, but I'll give it a shot. A person that is a racist probably has more hateful feelings than most other people, because it's part of his narrowminded philosophy. He only likes people his own race, and even then looks down on some of them, if they don't fit his credentials of religion and politics.

You ask a question like this and then you start putting down all people with white skin except some that are "cool" in your small mind. You are the racist.

Um, well I would have to say that for racist people, they will have an emptiness in their life for not have ever knowing anybody different from them. I think we can learn alot from people of different backgrounds, religions, and nationalities.

you think black people can't be racists? so you are saying just because of the color of their skin black people ALL have to be a certain way? look in the mirror for the answer to your question...and yes I will do the same.

Everyone a racist even if it is just a little. People are just too afraid and want society's approval too much to admit it.

I think everyone is racist in some way. To me being racist is thinking that one ethic is better than another. So if you think blacks are better in sports or asians are better in school or whatever, than that thought is racist
