I just turned 13 weeks preg. and am just now getting away from what it sounds like you are going thru. Dry heaving and puking 6-7 times a day, constant dizziness, huge smell aversions... not fun... I feel for you...I feel like it's already been 40 weeks! But.... luckily, for most it will subside somewhere around 12-16 weeks- at least that's mostly wht I read and what my dr. office said. ugh...that's rough when you are experiencing it every day. Here are some things I've tried that seemed to help me cope
first... Sea bands from drug store... they look like wrist bands, but put pressure on points in your wrist, second pepermint candy, or gum- have them available any time, third- it is true to NEVER NEVER be empty stomached... inevitably- this always made me heave, some will tell you soda crackers, but if you are like me- way tooo salty, ( my mouthy gets salty enough on it's own- ya know the way you do before you throw up... I don't need to feel more of that), so I tried a few things in the middle of the night even when I would get up to go to the bathroom b/c I even started getting sick in middle of nights...ugh, 2 or 3 lightly salted pretzels- I like Meijer brand Honey wheat pretzels...Munchems(granola bites) worked for a while... eating a few the min. i woke up by my bedside really started to help, some time just plain Nature Valley gran. bars, kept these all by my bed and some in my purse. I didn't believe it, but started using unisom sleep tabs- not to be confused with unisom sleep gels- 1/2 tab every night... category A drug and really supposed to help with next day morn. sickness...I think they really helped me...inevitably...when I would forget, next day not good, but make sure have time to be in bed at least 8 hrs... this helped when I started being sick in mid of night too, it was bad enough to have all day, much less night too. Itried mot. sick pills... just not good for me...sea bands(not medicine) and unisom much better choice. Also be careful with what Dr. may prescribe-sometimes for extreme cases will prescribe cat B and C drugs, if bad enough... I chose not to take-not worth risk, but for about 3 weeks took Reglan 1/2 of my dosage and not before every meal but in morns and this really helped, and seemed ok for baby...I hope this helps I feel for you and still have good days and bad, but luckily not heaving and puking anymore thank goodness, oh also, my drs. took me off all prenates- I couldn't stomach any of them... ask about Premisis RX- it is folic acid, b's calcium maybe 1 or 2 others...ingred. took for first 4 mos in first preg and helped extremely with morn sick. this time, I just couldn't stomach any... I've just started taking Flintstones to help with nutrition and will hopefully soon be back on premesis or prenates or at least adult vitamin... if not Dr. ok's 2 flintstones taken seperate times during rest preg... I'm just now doing one.... I hope this can help, one more thing increasing protein when you do eat will help and if you can have something high in protein before bed helpst oo like even a bananna or 1/2 of one... I always eat before I go to bed... even if it meant bringing it back up...try the unisom... getting a well rested night would be good for your body and baby too....but only 1/2! Good Luck!

Dont take any otc motion sickness pills without talking to your doctor. Nausea is very common at 9 weeks, in fact some even consider it a good sign as your hormones are working well. It will subside once the first trimester is over and you usually feel great during the 2nd trimester of pregnancy!

I most likely will stop in about 3 weeks. Some women never have morning sickness, some women only have it the first trimester, and some women will have it their entire pregnancy. Trust me, puking your guts out is totally worth it when you see that baby for the first time.

Hmmm.. I had morning sickness the whole time with all 3 of my children but, I did find that suckin on sour candy/suckers helped alot!! I ordered something called Preggy Pops and those Altoids sours worked pretty darn good as well... Usually the second trimester is pretty good, even if you have the morning sickness still it isnt as bad, trust me!!!

Alot of women feel sick through the whole thing, However most women stop being sick anywhere from 3-6 months...

If your getting to the point you cant breath when you get sick, laying on your side and leaning back helps. And you should talk to your doctor before takeing motion sickness pills. Alot of them contain minor steriods.

You should check with your doctor asap. If you are throwing up too much you could become dehydrated. Your dr. may want to put in in the hospital on IV medication to help quell the nausea.

It's normal. Please do not take any medication without notifying your Dr.!!! It will subside at about 3 months. Eat Saltines and small frequent meals throughout the day. And don't forget your vitamins. Congrats!!!

Your doctor can give you some medicine to help you.

Be careful taking motion sickness or other over the counter stuff. You could hurt your baby.

See your doctor right away. He will help you.

Go to local health food store & buy ginger capsules. Take according to directions. This will allay the nausea.
Good luck.
