My brother has a pet skunk. They can be nice pets, but there are a lot of difficulties. You have to get it from a certified dealer and you need permission for them to go across state lines.

You can get info at.

It is not a good idea. Remember that a skunk is a wild animal and should always be treated as such. A wild animal can turn on you at any time. It is best to leave wild animals in their own habitat. A concern that you should be more aware of over removal of the anal sac (deskunktified as u put it) is the sharp teeth of the skunk that can inflict serious injury. Skunk are also suseptible to many viral diseases. Skunks also have a very combative behavior.

Skunks and other wild animals are essential to the food chain. Our planet is in bad enough shape due to the destruction of habitat of animals and cause of many animals extintion or near extintion. We should try to do everything possible to not do anymore harm.

U use to be able to purchase descented skunks in florida. I am not sure anymore. They still have an odor, like a ferret still carries one. I use to raise baby squirrels, those are the best pets.................

You can have them as pets. They are descented but as to where you would get one. Beats me. Try the internet. On animal planet a lady had a bunch and they acted just like cats. Good Luck.

The term is "deflowered" not "deskunkified". Skunks make excellent pets, but they are illegal in many states.
