Spiders are beneficial and therefore should not be killed. It is fine to use a broom to take down the webs every day as they build a new web every night next to a light to attract winged moths and other flying bugs. You could try turning off the light earlier in the evening to encourage them to move away from your porch.

Spider webs are the way that the spider catches her food. If you want to get rid of the webs, you have to find and kill the spiders that are spinning them.

Put out a hummingbird feeder or two. Hummers eat spiders and use webs for nest building. And, you get to enjoy watching the little guys play!
