After the Civil War... Dust Bowl is 1930s... Civil War is 1865... so unless you meant decades after the Civil War I don't think we're talking about the Dust Bowl. Farmers have it rough in American history... new technology enabled them to harvest crops at a much quicker rate, yet at a quicker rate than consumer demand. Hence, the prices of their goods dropped and they were constantly in a cycle of debt. They continued to borrow money from banks for their farms, and had hardly any money flowing in in profits. Sorry if that made no sense.

there was an incident known as the dust bowl. It was caused by the excessive farming. It caused many to moved to the west, mainly California, to start their lives over. Yeah, there was a drought and there was a lot of dust, the dust bowl. They couldn't plant anything because it was so dry.

well in the south they had to pick thier own cotton or pay someone to do it.Before the civil war they had slaves.
