The queen is more of just a figure head. She has a little bit of say, but England has a government like Canada. With a party in office and the head of that party is kind of like the president only he is called the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister is the ruler but the queen gets her face on the money!

Theoretically she has a heck of a lot of power. She is the boss in England and all the other countries of the Commonwealth. If she wanted all the people is Canada to wear spandex polka dotted pants, she could make it law.
In reality the queen is a figurehead, and these countries have laws in place to prevent her from having real power.

The Queen has the power of shaming. Don't laugh, the power of shaming is powerful if you have the timing.
Also, following the shaming comes a restorative opportunity to fix the problem that caused the need for shaming. Like counseling, education, mentoring and caring. "A way of life!"

It's symbolic, it does keep the real power from going to the Prime Minister's head to some extent because he/she has to consult w. the Monarch and the one power Prime Ministers don't have is this symbolic/theoretical power. If the Prime Minister went mad (for example) technically the Monarch controls the military and it is the Monarch's government so people could choose who to follow if it came down to it.

The power to suck buttloads of money away from the English.
Outside of England, she has the power to make me laugh, very hard, every time I see her do that robotic little waving thingie. Absolutely priceless.

None at all, it is just for show. Parliament and the House of Lords, they have the power, as well as the prime minister.
